Hannah + Ryan – Winter Elopement in Stowe, Vermont

A year ago, Hannah and Ryan was inviting us to take part in their wedding. It was going to big, full of loved ones, beautiful details and a demanding schedule.

A few months ago, Ryan was offered an work opportunity that caused them to have to choose between their livelihood and their wedding date. They wrote us a tearful email canceling the big shindig, hoping to be able to have the wedding they dreamed about at some point later. They decided to hit the road for a romantic vacation to ease the sting of what would have been their wedding weekend, when they had a crazy idea – why not just elope while we are at it?

Our hearts nearly leapt out of our chests when Hannah hurriedly called us and asked us if we wanted to go on this crazy adventure with them. We were invited to be witnesses as well as photographers, which we always consider to be the highest honor. We cried together, had so much champagne, climbed mountains and had snowball fights – all to celebrate the amazing love, friendship and commitment these two have for each other. No matter what the world might throw at them.

Their story is one of resiliency, trust, and an endless reminder that no matter where you are or what is in store – you can always choose one another.
